Lunar Eclipse 05/15/2022

Sunday we were treated to a full moon, mostly clear sky, and Earth's shadow.

not too much on the horizon as temperatures warm up but maybe hoping for one more chase this year.

Eclipse 2017

There really isn't much to say about the Great American Eclipse.  I started the morning looking at weather reports and expected cloud cover and made the decision to head to central Nebraska.

Our original target of Atchinson ended up getting heavy rain, although they did spot totality.  We ended up at Alexandria State Recreation Area which was a beautiful site, but the weather did not cooperate.  We had some large thunderstorms build and brought in a lot of clouds.

For the first time in my chase career, we ran away from clouds.  Luckily, the sun peaked out and I was able to capture quite a few shots before ending up in Bruning, Nebraska.

I'm still going through more pictures and will post more soon.

Supermoon Eclipse 09/28/15

No civilizations were destroyed in the making of this eclipse.  Attempts with a 200mm zoom and a telescope with a T adapter.

Solar Eclipse 10/23/2014

I tried getting some eclipse photos last Thursday but ultimately the 920nm infrared filter didn't do the trick.  This is the Keeper of the Plains at the junction of the Little and Big Arkansas Rivers.

This was taken with the infrared filter.  I'm not sure why I'm getting the line to the left of center.

Finally, a little friend that's near the Keeper of the Plain.  The Troll that lives on the Arkansas River.
