April 19, 2017 storm chase

Storms had fired up west of Salina and were following I-70 along a dry line, soon a cold front would start making it descend south.  A series of individual storms met up and slowly became a squall line.  The clouds had a lot of groundscrubbers to it, scary clouds that seem to run along the ground.  I shot from Coronado Heights at first, moved a little to the west, and as the storm started moving south, ran back to McPherson and got the lightning shots at the bottom.

360 degree panograph, looks like my back is to the action, but I am shooting the storm.

March 24, 2017 Not much to report

A brief storm with strong hail, enough hail to cause fog.
One of the strangest things I've seen in chasing.
I found this area of fog that had a strange build up to it.  It didn't rotate, just stood in the field.

Oklahoma . . .

Nice little road trip down to Oklahoma City.

Very near wildfires in Reno County added to kind of a mess for a line of storms that came through on March 6th, 2017

Yes, Virginia. It is a Real Snowflake

New phone with an impressive camera.  Found I can take semi-clear macro photography with it.  This was one of the very rare snows we received in Wichita this year.  I took this at lunch and sent it around to coworkers.  Then uploaded it to a local channel, who preceded to do a "Fake or Real" news segment.  They did claim it was real "it is folks".

Botanica Illuninations

Illuminations is Botanica's little Winter Fest.  The night we went, there was high pressure overhead so the smoke from the chiminea's was forced down and caused a very smoking evening.

Yeah, It's overfiltered.
